Smithsonian Art Galleries: Sackler Gallery

The Sackler Gallery is located at 1050 Independence Ave SW. It is open from 10am to 5:30pm everyday. It is closed on Christmas. The focus of this art gallery is Asian art. The exhibits change quite regularly here as they do at most of the Smithsonian art galleries, thus it is enjoyable to visit regularly to see new things. The Arts of China: This exhibit contains some of the highlights of the galleries collection in relation to Chinese art. Items include jade, Buddhist sculptures, glass, and furniture. This is a continuing exhibit at the Sackler.

Contemporary Japanese Porcelain: This is a continuing exhibit at the Sackler. It features beautiful porcelain made in modern Japan.

Korean Ceramics: This is also a continuing exhibit. It displays ceramics from Korea dating between 200 and 1900. There is a good variety of types of ceramics on display including bowls and urns.
