12th Annual Iranian Film Festival: This film festival begins this weekend at the Freer Gallery of Art. This weekends film is Persian Carpet, which is a collaboration of several different Iranian directors. It is being shown on Friday at 7pm and Sunday at 2pm. Be sure to check out the full schedule of movies coming up the next couple weekends as part of this festival and plan ahead if you see one that interests you. The schedule can be found onlinehere.

A Midnight Clear Exhibit at United States Botanic Gardens: This holiday exhibit that includes the train outside the Botanic Gardens and the replicas of D.C. buildings inside closes this weekend. If you have not seen it yet, then you really should try and go see them this weekend as the miniature buildings really are spectacular to see in real life.

Magic and Medicine of Harry Potter: This interesting exhibit about the medicine and magical remedies in the popular Harry Potter books is at the National Library of Medicine. This Friday, January 4th, is the last day to see the exhibit.

Zoo in the Sky Story Time: This story time reading of the book Zoo in the Sky by Jacqueline Mitton is taking place at 11:30am this Saturday. The book is a fun one for kids to get an introduction to astronomy.
